Students join with a code

Launch a session and share the 6-character code. Students open it on any phone or laptop browser. No app, no sign-up.

Play live, see who knows

You move through the questions at your pace. Correct, fast answers score more, and the leaderboard updates after every question.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Do students need an account to play?

No. Students join with the 6-character code and a display name. After the game they can create an account to save their score and keep a history of their sessions.

What devices does BrainCognix work on?

Any phone, tablet or computer with a modern web browser. There is no app to download. Tutors usually host from a laptop, often on a projector, while students answer on their phones.

How are points calculated?

A wrong answer scores 0. A correct answer scores between 500 and 1,000 points: the faster the answer, the more points it earns. The leaderboard updates after every question.

What if a student’s internet is slow?

Answers that arrive a moment after the timer ends, because of a slow connection, are still accepted within a short grace period, so a slow network does not cost a student the question.

Can I reuse a quiz?

Yes. Quizzes are saved to your dashboard, and you can launch a new session from any of them whenever you like.

What happens to the results?

They are saved. You see full rankings on your results page, and we email you a summary when the session ends. Students with accounts can see their own results in their history.

Can I add my whole class at once?

Yes. Upload a CSV file of your students to your roster, or add them one at a time.
